The 1950s are frequently being referenced in designs and are constantly drifting in and out of trend. For our latest uni project we looked at the 1950s era to draw upon inspiration for styling ideas for a possible photo shoot. I was surprised at how much I found myself enjoying the aesthetics of the cute pastel gingham's, sugary colours and flattering silhouette and discovered previous collections that also incorporated these elements into their garments in a contemporary way. Above is a mood board of Michael Kors 2008, Prada & Louis Vuitton 2010/11 A/W collection that inspired our choice of styling and helped us to focus on a more modern approach.
